Sanctuary is a monthly community grief circle, a practice of co-creating a container to hold our experiences of loss with gentle care and loving-kindness.
From personal loss to collective loss, there is so much to grieve in our world. Our grief asks to be witnessed and tended to in community. You do not have to do this alone.
We will start our time together in circle, utilizing ritual and mindful presence to honor our grief journeys. With the guidance of an experienced facilitator, we will name and discuss aspects of grief that often go unspoken in our society. Journals will be provided so we can take paper and pen and allow the writing prompts to give our inner experience a voice. After the circle feels complete, we will move our bodies in a restorative yoga practice designed to help integrate what surfaces.
Each month will focus on an aspect of grief being called into our circle for witnessing. This month, the circle is dedicated to disenfranchised grief and all we are holding collectively. We are witnessing an intense amount of pain and suffering throughout our communities and around the world. This is to give voice to and hold that grief.
Pre-registration is required – you must sign up no later than the 18th to save your spot.
Sanctuary is offered at sliding-scale, $30-50. Discounted rates are available upon request.
We hope you join us; all grief is welcome.
